The project Community Engagement in Higher Education in the Southern Africa Region“ (CESAR) is a vehicle for social transformation and nation building through collaborative partnerships, internationalisation, and opportunities for improved living and knowledge exchange between universities and society.
The main purpose of CESAR is to build partnerships across nations to share ideas, knowledge, skills, practices and experiences through CE projects in communities. SDG 17: Partnerships for the goals as a guiding framework, is the foundation on which the following fields of action will are addressed: Teaching, Research and Management. An international trans-disciplinary team of university staff and their external community, government and industry partners collaborate through capacity building workshops and knowledge exchange activities to develop responses in the form of SDG’s projects. The project draws together universities from Germany and Southern Africa (South Africa and Namibia) in a knowledge exchange partnership with their external university partners. CESAR is fortunate to have the expertise of researchers and practitioners in the fields of CE; Entrepreneurship, Sustainable development, Curriculum Development; Project Management; and Engaged research.
